We store the details needed to run the pilot: website applications, account preferences and the discoveries you choose to save or follow.

Website applications

We store your public website address, contact email, description and permission choices. Submitting does not make you an active member and does not subscribe you to a newsletter. Your email is not shared with participating publishers.

Reader invitations

We store your email, selected interests and request to receive a launch invitation. A future weekly digest will require a separate opt-in. Your interests are private.

Accounts

Clerk handles account sign-in. Signing in does not grant permission to send discovery emails. The network keeps its own record of your explicit preferences.

Your discoveries

Your interests, saved pages, follows and hidden websites are stored against your account. Publishers cannot see individual readers. Outbound clicks are counted in daily totals and only shown to a publisher after at least five clicks. The bar itself sets no cookies and remembers its minimised state in your browser. When you arrive through a GoodWeb discovery link, it sends a one-time installation health signal. The random handoff token expires after five minutes; records are deleted after one day during routine checks. These records contain the destination and bar status, without an account ID, email, IP address or persistent reader identifier. A missing signal can trigger an installation check.

Website indexing

With the publisher’s permission, we fetch public pages and store extracted text, titles and short excerpts. Publishers can exclude pages or pause participation immediately. Clerk handles authentication, Neon stores application data, Railway runs the API and crawler, and Shiply hosts this website.

Current development status
